If you are not able to connect to your host over FTP most likely problem is in FTP settings or you get Failed to retrieve directory listing you can try fallowing

SOLUTION:

- Try to set for hostname just your domain.com name, without ftp.domain.com
- You can also try to set encryption to PLAIN or try to EDIT, SETTINGS, FTP, transfer mode, and checking passive (recommended) instead of active mode.
